New Year's Resolution

Usually I evaluate my life when I get to February (b-day), but this year I think I'll post my goals for the year for my writing career.

1. Revise "Dragon's Heart"
2. Finish and revise "Fallen"
3. Work on the following ideas:
What Would ***** Do?
Unnamed Story - Jen & Drake
My Own Backyard
Forbidden
4. Enter two contests, Golden Hearts and one tbd
5. Submit finished MS to at least 5 agents
6. During week, write at least 1800 words a day
7. Enter NaNoWriMo because my life isn't insane enough

Here's looking forward to 2008. What are your lofty goals for the year?

Great to see you back! Looks like you have a lot of goals on your plate, but every one of them seems reasonable.

I'm still not sure what my goals are. I'm still working on finishing my rough draft. I'd planned to have it finished by the end of my winter break and then work on (heavy) revision over the spring. Mostly I think it boils down to staying focused on my part. So I'm going to focus on staying focuse :)

Happy New Year!

We were in Skye for the week of Xmas. Cut off from the rest of the world. It was fabulous.

Happy New Year to you too!

My goal is to write more, read more, exercise more. As far as writing goals, I'd like to pick up another genre and/or another publisher before 2008 is out!

Hi Amanda
Just dropping by to wish you a Happy New Year.
My goals are to write, read, write, edit, then write some more. Oh and do a lot more exercise.
Have a great year.
Hugs

Afternoon! (& Happy New Year!)

My goals are:
- to finish Kieran's Kiss and get that edited

- to outline and write Phelan's Fate

- to do some short stories for spec fic magazines/ e-zines

- and as a new thing, I'm going to try my hand at some poetry as well. Just for a bit of variety!

- I'm also going to aim for just under 5K per week in new words and hopefully this won't be one of those new year things that peters out!

I want to finish my novel (working title Chivalrous..not sure I like it though). It's at 55k words, but there is plenty more plot that's not written yet.

I would like to try spending a minimum of 2 hours a week writing. It's not a lot of time, but if I need to I can churn out a lot in that time. At my NaNo pace, that's about 2-3000 words a week if all I do is write and not revise.

I likely will try NaNo again this November. I didn't get a lot of sleep or exercise that month, but I enjoyed it. What I wrote wasn't half bad either.

I have no plans to submit anything to anyone yet. Maybe after Chivalrous is done and I start working on a second one.

I may consider enrolling an a fiction writing or creative writing class, just to get some structured time to focus on it. My employer does tuition reimbursement, so all I have to do is find a class and inform the hubby that he's on kid duty :)
